Change the default report output
You can change the default report outputReport output combines data at the point in time when the report was run. type you want to apply by default when you run your reports. You can select from HTML, PDF, CSV, Microsoft Excel, or Microsoft Excel Data outputs.
You can override your setting at any time by clicking 
next to the reportA set of data deliberately laid out to communicate business information. Depending on the context, 'report' may refer to report specification or report output. Report (more precisely, report specification) is the generic term for the objects created or edited in Cognos Analytics.
Pronto Xi Business Intelligence offers a suite of standard reports. then selecting Run as. Then select the output type you want from the list.

Click My preferences.

In Report format, select the report format you want.

Close the slide out area by clicking any area to the left of it.
The next time you run a report, it will run using the output type you selected.
You can override this selection by clicking
next to the report then selecting Run as, and selecting the format you want.
