Upgrade requirements for users of shared General Ledger environments
For customers upgrading to pxiPronto Xi version 740 or higher, note that three new environment variables are now in use for shared General Ledger environments.
These environment variables have been added to provide greater flexibility when creating shared Chart of Accounts and General Ledger Hierarchy structures in a multi-company environment.
These are:
-
SYSGLCHART
General Ledger Chart of Accounts structure.
-
SYSGLHIER
General Ledger hierarchyIn Analytics Dashboards, regular dimensions contain descriptive and business key information and this information is organised into a hierarchy; from it's highest level of granularity, to its lowest. The hierarchy contains multiple levels. For example, a hierarchy that has three levels such as "All Products", "Product Group", and "Products". structure (levelIn a hierarchy, a level indicates a group of common or related members. For example, in a Time level, members may include Year, Month, Day or Fiscal Year, Calendar Year, etc.).
-
SYSGLCLASS
General Ledger hierarchy structure (class).
You will need to review the current settings of the SYSDATA and SYSGLDATA environment variables and make changes according to the following:
-
If SYSDATA is set
SetSYSGLCHART for each company that is linked to the same SYSDATA location.
This can be the same location as the current SYSDATA location, or a new shared location.
The SYSDATA environment variable will be deprecated from pxiPronto Xi version 750.0.
-
If SYSGLDATA is set
Set SYSGLHIER and SYSGLCLASS for each company that is linked to the same SYSGLDATA location.
This can be the same location as the current SYSGLDATA location, or a new shared location.
For example, setA selection of members in a dimension SYSGLDATA to /pro/pronto/src
Then point the other three environment variables to SYSGLDATA, that is:
-
SYSGLCHART = SYSGLDATA
-
SYSGLHIER = SYSGLDATA
-
SYSGLCLASS = SYSGLDATA
