Pronto Xi capabilities for Cognos Analytics

The userA person accessing a Pronto Xi Business Intelligence application. capabilities applicable to Cognos Analytics are, by functional area:

• Administration

  Capability 10 (Administration)

  Administer Cognos Analytics.

• Dashboards and Stories (for Report analysts)

  Capability 40 (Cognos Workspace)

  Use the Dashboard and Story tools to run and add and edit dashboards and stories. Users can also access the legacy Cognos Workspace application to run and edit reports.

  Users with this capabilityA group of functions and features that can be hidden or revealed to simplify the user interface. Capabilities can be enabled or disabled by changing preference settings, or they can be controlled through an administration interface. can incorporate existing data modules and data sets into their dashboards and stories, however, they cannot create or edit the data modules and data sets.

• Report (for Report authors)

  Capability 90 (Report Studio)

  Use the Report tool to add and edit reports, and upload external files and data.

  Users with this capability can incorporate existing data modules and data sets into their reports, however, they cannot add or edit data modules and data sets.

• Data module and data sets (for Report authors)

  Capability 110 (Data module)

  Add and edit data modules and data sets, and upload external files and data.

• Analytics Dimensions and Analytics Dashboards (for licensed users)

  Capability numbers 500 and above.

Cognos Workspace Advanced (capability 50) and BI Schema Manager (capability 100) have been retired. Users who previously had capability 50 (Cognos Workspace Advanced), have been moved to capability 90 (Report Studio).
